Find the right infant car seats for your baby.
We were living in New York City when Amelia was born, and we didn’t own a car, so our first car seat was a convertible seat – thinking we wouldn’t use it that often. But then we moved, bought a car, and I quickly learned how important it was to have a “baby bucket” that would easily snap into the stroller or car — all without waking the baby!
We went with the Britax B-Safe because we already owned the Britax B-Ready stroller, and I wanted an easy fit without an adapter. (The other option was the Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat, but I wanted to keep the cost down, so I went with Britax’s more basic model.) The B-Safe was a good infant seat for occasional use — it was very easy to clean and not too heavy — but we didn’t utilize it to its full potential because we got it when Amelia was already four month old. (She spent the first couple months in the Britax B-Ready Bassinet, which we loved!)
I know that a lot of newborns spend the majority of their days in their infant car seats, so I’d love to hear what the other Mamas have to say! What’s your favorite infant car seat out there that you would recommend?
