Most Helpful Reviews on the Britax Advocate 70 CS Convertible Car Seat.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars(5/5) – 11/30/11 – As far as the product goes, you’ll immediately understand why this seat is so great once you get it out of the box. You can adjust the straps without having to take your car seat out to change them in the back! It comes with side impacts to protect your childs head! The “Click and Safe” mechanism was a bit confusing to me at first but its just a clicking noise letting the parent know while shortening the seatbelt that the belt is now snug around their kid already seated in it and that the kid is safe now…. The Positive: – Feels and looks very safe – Very Sturdy – …  Easily adjusts to the height of the kid – Uses Safecell technology, looks and feels like styrofoam but this definitely helps absorb some of the shock in an accident. The Negative: – The Price!!! – Can’t change the recline once anchored in the car…. (read more and buy it at Amazon.com)
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars(4/5) – 2/2/2012 – I had an Advocate 65 prior to buying this 70 model, but the extra EPP foam lining the shell (the advocate 65 has no foam on the side of the shell…… what gives Britax?), collapsing honeycomb base, smoother belt path to smooth out the CS feature, and stronger/more integral mounting bars convinced me to drop another 300 bucks on the 70. Some guys get a new iphone when a new version is available, I get another car seat…. Here is my opinion based on an engineering background…. (read more and buy it at Diapers.com)
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars(5/5) – 3/12/2012 – … Things that are great about it: * It’s very plush. * It has head supports that protect the child’s head from excessive lateral movement during a crash. I like that they hold my son’s head up when he falls asleep in the car. * The side impact technology (white outter exterior) can be found in no other carseat (not even another Britax car seat)…. Things that aren’t so great about it: * I wasn’t able to install it properly by myself…. * It is bulky. It’s a tight fit sitting next to it while it’s set up in the middle seat, but even overweight female family members are able to still fit…. (read more and buy it at Babiesrus.com)

What the Makers Say

  • HUGS Chest Pads with SafeCell Technology are affixed to the seat shell to ensure proper positioning while SafeCells compress to manage energy and provide resistance to the forward movement of your child in a crash, reducing the risk of head injury
EZ-Buckle System retains the harness buckle in a forward position and prevents the child from sitting on the buckle when boarding
  • True Side Impact Protection is deep side walls with energy-absorbing EPP foam along with a head restraint which offers a double layer of EPP foam to distribute crash forces, shield from vehicle intrusion, and contain the head, neck and body while keeping them “in true” or aligned
  • Base with SafeCell Technology features SafeCells designed to compress in a crash, significantly lowering the center of gravity and counteracting the forward rotation of the child seat which normally propels the child toward the front seat
  • Integrated Steel Bars strengthen the connection to the vehicle and reduce forward flexing of the child seat during a crash
  • Energy-Absorbing Versa-Tether features a staged-release tether webbing to slow the forward movement, reducing the crash forces reaching the child, and a two-point attachment to minimize forward rotation while anchoring the top of the child seat
  • Side Impact Cushion Technology features energy-absorbing cushions on the exterior of the child seat to reduce side impact crash energy by 45% by diverting crash forces away from your child and providing extra protection for the adjacent passenger
  • Click & Safe® Snug Harness Indicator is an audible aid that provides extra assurance when the harness is within range of appropriate snugness
  • Tangle-Free, Five-Point Harness distributes crash forces across the strongest parts of the body and provides a secure fit…. (read more at BritaxUSA.com)
